In the first seven months of this year, poultry production in Russia increased by 2.4% to 3.6 million tons, the Ministry of Agriculture reports.
The production of eggs for the same period increased by 2% and amounted to 20.8 billion pieces.
The leaders of poultry productions are the agricultural organizations of the Rostov, Tambov, Penza, Tula regions, the Republics of Crimea, Mordovia and Mari El.
Leaders in egg production are the agricultural producers of Astrakhan, Yaroslavl, Ryazan, Voronezh, Vologda regions, Stavropol Territory, and also the Republics of Mordovia and Tatarstan.
Since the start of this year, Russia has increased production of all types of meat by 12% compared with the same period in 2017.
For reference: today poultry meat occupies 45% of the meat ration of Russian people, swine — 30%, lamb — 4%, and the share of beef barely reaches 20%. Although in 2001 this indicator was equal to 42%.
