Russia has increased poultry production by 7.4%

According to the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, from  January to August of this year, the production of poultry for slaughter in live weight in enterprises was 4.01 million tons, which is 7.4% more than a year earlier (2016 — 3.7 million tons).

Ministry specified that the growth of poultry production, was provided by Tambov, Belgorod, Tula, Kursk, and Volgograd regions, the Republic of Bashkortostan and the Stavropol Territory.

The production of eggs for the reported period amounted to 23.4 billion pieces, which is 4.4% more than a year earlier (2016 — 22.4 billion pieces). The maximum growth in egg production was recorded in the St.Petesburg, Tyumen, Yaroslavl, Tula, Omsk, and Rostov regions and the Krasnodar Territory.

The program of import substitution implemented in Russia made it possible to increase agricultural production by 11% over three years. The most significant results have been achieved in the meat industry.

From January to July of 2017, poultry production increased by 6.8%.
